DENTON -- The Mean Green have won nine games in back-to-back seasons for the first time in school history. Head coach Seth Littrell has transformed this Mean Green program into a C-USA championship caliber team, and it looks as if he will continue the upward trend of North Texas football after signing one of the best recruiting classes in North Texas history.
North Texas signed all 23 of their scholarship players on Early National Signing Day on Dec. 19. This Mean Green 2019 recruiting class, or F19HT CLUB, comes into the spring with lots of promise.
After Early Signing Day, North Texas was ranked No. 1 in C-USA but dropped to No. 2 after Marshall signed 27 total commits on National Signing Day yesterday evening.
22 of the 23 North Texas signees are 3-star prospects or better, and Mean Green head coach Seth Littrell showed balance while recruiting this class. North Texas signed 11 on offense and 12 on defense.
Will Kuehne is one of the five North Texas early enrollees this spring. Kuehne comes to North Texas from Owosso, Oklahoma, which is just an hour from where both Littrell and current quarterback Mason Fine grew up.
Kuehne's family also has ties to North Texas. Kuehne's grandfather is a North Texas alum and has donated a significant amount of money to the university. Kuehne rejected offers from Arkansas State, Columbia, Dartmouth and Maryland.
North Texas will also lose a few key offensive lineman this year. To fulfill those duties, the Mean Green signed Virginia Tech transfer D'Andre Plantin. Plantin was ranked the No. 123 lineman in Georgia coming out of high school.
North Texas' spring game will be on April 6 at Apogee Stadium starting at 1 p.m.
