DENTON -- Head coach Seth Littrell announced on Wednesday that Bodie Reeder would be the new play-caller for the high-flying Mean Green offense.

Reeder will replace current USC offensive coordinator Graham Harrell. He spent the past two season at Eastern Washington as the offensive coordinator while leading the offense to 43.1 points per game and 528.2 yards per game, which ranked third out of FCS and FBS schools.

Eastern Washington reached the FCS championship game last season despite losing preseason-All American quarterback Gabe Gubrud to a season-ending injury in week five.

"Coach Reeder is one of the brightest young offensive minds in the country and we are happy to have the opportunity to bring him to Denton," Littrell said in a statement. "He has been successful at all of his career stops at several levels of college football, most recently at Eastern Washington and Oklahoma State. I can't wait to bring him into our family and culture and give him the opportunity to leave a great mark on our program."

Reeder will take over an offense led by senior quarterback Mason Fine, who set the school record in total passing yards, passing attempts and completions. The offense has been superb the past three years with Harrell as the play caller, averaging 34.62 points per game and 460.5 yards per game in 2018.

The 32-year-old offensive coordinator will also have Rico Bussey Jr., Michael Lawrence and Jaelon Darden returning at the wide receiver position, while DeAndre Torrey and Loren Easly plan to carry most of the load at running back for North Texas.

Reeder also spent time at Oklahoma State and coached Mason Rudolph to a stellar 2016 season. Rudolph threw for 314.7 yards per game, completed 63 percent of his passes, 28 touchdowns and was a third-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Mean Green Sports Machine and the rest of Denton welcome Coach Reeder to Denton!
